Mountain Biking on the Kevin Clegg Memorial Trails
Our instructor is Jeff Weiss. Jeff will be instructing alongside Joe Marra on Tuesdays starting at 6:30 pm at the Major Kevin Clegg Trail in Ravenswood. They will be instructing Mountain Biking on the trail!
“Hello! My name is Jeff Weiss and I’m an elementary physical education teacher in the Jackson County Schools. After hanging up my competitive running career in 2016, which included qualifying for both the 2012 and 2016 US Olympic Marathon Trials, I decided to take up mountain biking to maintain my fitness because I enjoy the outdoors. The combination of being in the woods and getting a workout greatly appealed to me. Along with my riding partner Joe Marra, we will be hosting group mountain bike rides at the Kevin Clegg Trails in Ravenswood in conjunction with Movin’ in May. We are looking forward to seeing you on the trails in May and beyond!”

“My name is Joe Marra. I grew up in the Eastern Pandhandle where my love for the outdoors started. My love for mountain biking started almost 30 years ago! I enjoy finding new places to ride and have rode in many different places in West Virginia. I help coach a NICA (National Interscholastic Cycling Association) team here in Jackson County called the Jackson County Jackles, which is a mountain biking team for students 6th to 12th grade. You will find me either riding or working on the Major Kevin Clegg trails with my son, Mitch, or my riding partner Jeff Weiss. We are very excited with the new trail that is going in that will help all ages and abilities ride or hike the Major Kevin Clegg trails. See you on the trails!”
