City of Ravenswood Solicits Paving Bids

             Sealed bids will be received by the City of Ravenswood, West Virginia, at City Hall, until 4:00 P.M., EST, Friday, May 7, 2021, for the repair and resurfacing of asphalt streets in the City of Ravenswood. A mandatory Pre-Bid meeting will be held on April 23, 2021, to tour the proposed construction areas.  Contractors planning to bid on the project should meet at the Ravenswood City Hall, 1 Wall Street, Ravenswood, West Virginia at 1:00 P.M.  

             All proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud in City Hall Council Chambers on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at 7:00 PM.

            Complete plans and specifications will be open to public inspection or may be secured at City Hall, Ravenswood, West Virginia, for the sum of $25. Deposit will not be refunded.

            Each bidder must tender with their proposal a certified check or bid bond, payable to the City of Ravenswood, West Virginia in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of their total proposal. Bid Security will be returned to unsuccessful bidders ten (10) days following opening of bid. The Bid Security of the successful bidder will be retained until they execute a surety bond for performance of the contract. If the successful bidder is not able to furnish surety bond within ten (10) days following award of contract, their Bid Security shall be forfeited to the City of Ravenswood, West Virginia. All bonds must be counter-signed by a West Virginia resident agent.  A successful bidder shall be licensed to do business in the State of West Virginia and shall obtain a business license from the City of Ravenswood prior to commencing work on the paving project.  Successful bidders shall provide proof of liability insurance to the City prior to commencing work.

            The City of Ravenswood, West Virginia, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality in any bid.
