RAVENSWOOD, W.Va. — Downtown Ravenswood Partners is inviting community members of all ages to help create a permanent public art installation through the Mural Mosaic Community Tile Project, with two upcoming tile painting events scheduled in early February.
The first community tile painting event will be held at the Ravenswood Senior Center on Sunday, Feb. 1, at 3 p.m. The second event will take place at Ravenswood City Hall on Saturday, Feb. 7, at noon.
Participants will have the opportunity to paint individual tiles that will be assembled into a large, permanent mural installed on Washington Street in downtown Ravenswood. Each tile represents a personal contribution to a shared work of public art designed to celebrate community pride and creativity.
No artistic experience is required, and all ages are welcome to participate. A $10 suggested donation per tile helps support the cost of the project and future community art initiatives.
“The goal of this project is to create something lasting that reflects the people who live here,” Molly Washburn, Executive Director of Downtown Ravenswood Partners, said. “Every tile tells a small story, and together they become something meaningful for the entire community.”
Community members are encouraged to register in advance and select their preferred painting date. Register at https://bit.ly/49Jk7wD.
The Mural Mosaic Project is led by Downtown Ravenswood Partners and is supported through community participation, local sponsorships, and grant funding.
