Queen and Teen Pageant

Dear Prospective Contestant,

Thank you for your interest in competing in the 2024 Ravenswood Ohio River Festival Queen Daphne and Teen Queen Pageant.  Our Pageant is open statewide to all West Virginia female residents ages 13-21. This year’s pageant will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2023, at Ravenswood High School auditorium in Ravenswood, WV. The contestant's arrival time is 12 p.m. with the pageant beginning at 6 p.m.

The Ravenswood Ohio River Festival will be held August 2-4, 2023 in Ravenswood, WV and if crowned the titleholder in your age division you will be required to sign a contract and attend all 3 days of the festival as well as additional appearances throughout the year.

The areas of competition will be:

1. Personal Interview (3 minutes for Teen; 4 minutes for Miss):  Each contestant will appear before the judges in a panel style interview.  Attire should be age appropriate and professional, something you would wear to a job interview. 

2. Personal Sense of Style (All Contestants):  Each contestant will do an introduction on stage and model in Personal Sense of Style.  Choose an outfit that best represents you, cocktail dress, jumpsuit, etc.  Attire should be age appropriate. 

3. Evening Gown (All Contestants):  A full-length evening gown of your preference that is age appropriate is required.  Choose a color and style of gown that best reflects you.  We want you to feel beautiful and elegant during this phase of competition. 

REQUIREMENTS:  The Teen contestants must be 13-15 years old on the day of the pageant.  The Miss contestants must be 16 years of age or not have reached their 22nd birthday by January 1, 2025.  Both contestants must have never been married or given birth to a child. Contestants attest they are of good moral character and have not been involved at any time in any act of inappropriate behavior that may bring discredit or harm to the pageant, festival, or it's reputation.  All contestants shall refrain from bullying behaviors as this will not be tolerated.  If we are made aware of bullying behaviors at any time you will be asked to leave the pageant and no refund will be issued.    

Prior to the pageant, should any contestant enter and win an affiliated WVAFF Pageant their entry fee will be refunded in full.  The contestants who are crowned Ravenswood Ohio River Festival Queen Daphne and Teen Queen will be prohibited from entering any affiliated WVAFF Pageant until after the annual WVAFF State Pageant.  Entry Fee will NOT be refunded otherwise for any other reason.

PRIZE PACKAGE: The Ravenswood Ohio River Festival Teen Queen will receive a minimum $125 cash award at the end of her reign if all activities/duties outlined in her contract have been met, Official Crown, Pink Heart Sash, Sash Pin, Gift Package, Flowers, one weekend ticket to the 2025 WVAFF pageant, and more from local sponsors.  The Ravenswood Ohio River Festival Queen Daphne will receive a minimum $500 cash scholarship award at the end of her reign if all activities/duties outlined in her contract have been met, Official Crown, Pink Heart Sash, Flowers, Sash Pin, Gift Package, lodging accomodations during the festival, entry fee and hotel paid for the 2025 WVAFF Pageant, one weekened parent ticket to the 2025 WVAFF Pageant, Pageant Prep from Director Kassie Lawless, $250 wardrobe allowance for the 2025 WVAFF Pageant, plus more from local sponsors. 

 The entry fee is $110 for Teen contestants (13-15 years old) and $125 for Miss contestants (16-21 years old).  Both entry form and payment MUST be received to be considered registered for the pageant.  The deadline is March 18, 2023 by 11:59pm.  NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR ANY REASON. 

Photos: You can either email or mail your photo submission.  Photos can be black/white or color.  If you are mailing the photo please send a 5x7 photo to Kassie Lawless 217 River Bend Dr., Ravenswood, WV 26164 and include contestant name and age divison on the back of the photo.  You can email your photo to RORFPageant@outlook.com and please include contestant name and age division.  

Entry fee payment:  Once your application is submitted you must complete the entry fee portion.  You can do this by sending via PayPal (Friend & Family): @RavenswoodORF or https://paypal.me/RavenswoodORF.  You must include the contestant name in the note.  

You can also mail a check made payable to the City of Ravenswood and send to Kassie Lawless 217 River Bend Dr., Ravenswood, WV 26164.  Please include on the memo line of the check Ravenswood ORF Pageant.
